Wine tastings are by appointment only and well worth the effort to find this gem off of the Hwy 29 beaten path. I met Julie Johnson, owner/winemaker, at the ZAP festival earlier this year. Her impassioned and informative presentation during the winemaker talks compelled me to find her table in the very crowded concourse. Delighted by the tasting, I pursued scheduling an appointment.

The tasting was enhanced by a tour of the wine cave and farm. Ashley's knowledge of the organic methods and terroir prepared one for each wine tasted. For those that appreciate a well crafted Zinfandel and rustic charm, schedule an appointment immediately. The word is definitely getting out, as there were visitors from Las Vegas and Chicago in the group.

The only opportunity for improvement would be timelier return communication regarding scheduling. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and have added Tres Sabores Zin to my favorites' list.
