Proceeds from the event support Rhythmix’s free cultural arts education and programming for underserved youth in Alameda and Oakland.
Festivities begin at 4 pm with select wine tastings from 12 Northern California vineyards and catering from some of the East Bay’s finest restaurants. At 5 pm, a lively panel discussion with some of the Bay Area’s leading women wine producers will explore women’s impact on the wine industry. Tastings and entertainment provided by swing guitarist and vocalist Carmen Getit with Steve Lucky; continue until 7 pm.
Musical performances begin at 7:30 pm and feature acclaimed local and international artists, including world music ensemble Maze Daiko; ethereal hang player Laura Inserra; winemaker Barbara Brown with R&B Cellars Quartet BK4; blues guitarist and vocalist Pat Wilder; Violinist Jeannie Mckenzie; Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Rhonda Benin; blues/roots saxophonist Nancy Wright; and blues vocalist and two-time Memphis International Blues Challenge semifinalist Terrie Odabi.

Rhythmix will also present its second annual Golden Gear Awards to an East Bay visual artist, performing artist, and arts educator as selected by the public. Nominations were accepted online through May 30; final voting takes place from June 3–30 at www.rhythmix.org. Winners will be acknowledged live at the event on August 22.
Tickets to Wine, Women & Song range from $35 to $110 and can be purchased in advance at www.rhythmix.org. VIP packages include reserve wine pourings and the opportunity to mingle with winemakers in person in the VIP lounge, as well as dedicated seating for the evening’s show.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
The wine festival portion of the event from 4pm-7pm is ages 21 & older only please. During the live music showcase from 7:30pm-10pm, all ages are welcome. See ticket details to purchase accordingly.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is plenty of parking available surrounding the venue. Rhythmix Cultural Works is located at 2513 Blanding Ave., just off the Park Street bridge in Alameda.
We are easily accessible by public transportation. Take BART to Fruitvale station in Oakland and catch the 51A AC Transit bus to Blanding Ave. and Broadway. We are located directly down the block from this stop.
