Our name best describes what we're all about. When we were planning for this restaurant, we each had our own ideas of what it should be like, but one thing was clearly in common: we wanted to provide a True Italian experience in food and service. That's why we decided to call the place by the adjective we used the most in our discussions: Vero... True!
Sitting around the table and having a good meal is about food, service, ambiance, and of course the right company. We have tried to create the right mix of three of the elements to give you the best possible experience in the "Vero" Italian tradition.
We're passionate about the quality of our food and believe in supporting the local economy. That's why we strive to serve locally grown, organic and seasonal produce, and source meat of naturally raised animals and sustainable seafood.
So come in, relax, and take your time savoring our dishes, and sharing in our passion for Italy, its culture, and its food.

Fresh, traditional italian food in downtown Palo Alto
One evening after a very long week I made my first visit to Vero. They found space for me at the counter which put me about 5 feet from the kitchen line. As I enjoyed my meal I occasionally chatted with the crew as they prepared and served the offerings of the day. Being so close to the preparation process was fascinating, my first experience of cooking as a spectator sport!
Vero's food is as advertised: well executed locally sourced, traditional italian dishes. The restaurant itself is a friendly, upscale yet relaxed establishment where one can feel comfortable sharing a meal with the entire family or just with that someone special.
Do not miss the panna cotta! Made at Vero it is truly sublime and one of the reasons I keep coming back for more!
